The San Diego Padres trade Greg Maddux to the Dodgers
The Padres have traded 42-year old righty starting pitcher Greg Maddux to the Dodgers for a player to be named later. Maddux started 26 games for the Padres this season and he was 6-9 with a 3.99 ERA and a 1.22 WHIP. He should have a lot more wins than he does right now but the Padres couldn’t get him many leads or protect them. Maddux finishes his career with the Padres having pitched in 60 games (all starts) in which he was 20-20 with a 4.07 ERA and a 1.23 WHIP. Ordinarily it wouldn’t be a good idea to help out the Dodgers but the Padres aren’t going anywhere this season so it made sense to give Maddux a chance to pitch for a winning team.
