The San Diego Padres trade Tony Clark to the D-Backs
The Padres have traded backup 1B Tony Clark to the D-Backs for 22-year old righty relief pitcher Evan Scribner. Scribner has pitched in 28 games (0 starts) in A-Ball this season and he is 3-3 with 9 saves, a 1.64 ERA and a 0.86 WHIP. He has only allowed 28 hits in 44 innings while whiffing 62 batters. This was a good trade for the Padres who weren’t using Clark much anyway. Clark played in 70 games for the Padres this season and he was 21 for 88 (.239 avg, .681 OPS) with 5 runs scored, 1 homer and 11 RBIs.
